New York Pizza in my dreams.

New York delights

Sullivan St. Bakery-Jim Leahy's cafe

When I went to New York, I really wanted to sample some of the goods at Jim Lahey’s Sullivan St. Bakery to see for myself what the fuss is about. Even though I have not tried his ‘No Knead Bread’ recipe myself, many bread enthusiasts swear by it. Jim Lahey has his detractors too. Nonetheless, we hunted out the Sullivan St. Bakery on a very very cold cloudy drizzly winter morning in New York. There was a small queue but it was cosy inside. We had a slice of potato pizza and broccoli pizza each and a banana tarte tatin.

The taste lingers...

It was served cold and it was a small square slice, and I did not expect the memory to linger, but I must say, since that day I haven’t had pizza without first praying to that one.
